SaaS Facts IT Professionals Should Discern
Bangalore: Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) has already set in the Information technology atmosphere. It is way beyond the subject of discussion; it is being applied and functioning pretty well. SaaS application should be welcomed by the corporations of all sizes as much as the on-premises softwares. CIOs should consider implementation of SaaS applications in the running.
Since the companies have already started applying cloud in their functioning, IT professionals should realize that SaaS is set in the system. The upcoming challenges for an IT company are to realize how to manage the SaaS portfolio with the same consideration given to the on-premise software. The balance is the key; as SaaS has proven its significance.
Governing SaaS is an issue. There are apps in the market to manage that as well. The software vendors are providing specialized SaaS products to help CIOs manage the Cloud applications. The vendors are keeping in mind the requirements of the IT professionals in mind and offering SaaS applications appropriate for the smooth functioning of cloud.
Chris Kanaracus in CIO.com quoted R "Ray" Wang, CEO of Constellation Research that SaaS governance involves much more than a shiny new management application. He also said that one should understand the modus operandi. A clear idea should be there on how the application runs and how the work is done. The information should be evaluated and the work done for them should be also apparent.
Due to the entry of Cloud, the data accumulated in the company should be secured. The main goal of the CIOs is to develop a security system which will guard the Data properly without leaving any room for loopholes. This can only be achieved if the IT professionals set their specific goals before buying the product or apps from the vendors. They should make their requirements clear to the vendors to avoid any failures in the system in future.
