BYOD: Boon or Bane?

Bangalore: BYOD seems to be gaining ground in the corporate circle, slowly but surely; but it has its own implications. Employees are in love with this trend but CIOs are not exactly in favor, if not against this policy, as it gives rise to security concerns making the task of CIOs all the more cumbersome. This issue however, can be deftly dealt with by incorporating a data distribution product which will enable the CIOs to provide access to data to the employees, which is most relevant - securely and in real time.

An infographic by SAP and NetBase, categorizes the pros and cons of this trend in our daily operations, which is no less than a phenomenon, especially with the advent of smartphones and tablets. This can be verified by the fact that in the past year alone, a staggering 100,000 mentions of this policy can be found on various articles and blogs which have been pondered and debated upon, reports Forbes.
