Advent of BT in India

Indian CIOs display commendable knowledge when enquired about their expertise in the field of Business Technology(BT). A survey was conducted, involving 130 companies in India using Forrester’s BT Leadership Maturity Model as the medium, which attests this statement, reports Manish Bahl.



Considering the fact that India is still adapting to this neoteric trend, the CIOs projected tremendous cognition, highlighting its importance with respect to the business’s credibility. Although a lack of apprehension prevailed in the fields of time-to-value, market differentiation, communication, and governance, the CIOs were very much enthusiastic about the relatively new concept.



The survey shed light on cardinal aspects of the Indian business dynamics with regards to BT as compared to more economically developed nations of the world. It also provided some guidelines as to how one can get more familiar with the concept of BT. Importance of consistency towards BT in order to propel the success of an organization was another area that the report focused on.



As such, the shift from IT to BT might still seem like an arduous task for Indian CIOs but they will definitely not allow anything to hinder their journey in the successful adaptation of the same. As they fully comprehend the role of BT in this era of consumerization, Indian CIOs must pull up their socks and evolve by improving their BT maturity as their role is getting more business-oriented day by day.
