Mobile applications would be the single most all-pervasive technology that is changing the world and making technology accessible to all. In a widely spreadsupply chain like Mother Dairy where milk and vegetable collection spans thousands of villages and the distribution network runs across the country, simplified and mobile technology solutions are the logical way to enable processes at manageable costs.

While we have leveraged mobile applications for indent capturing processes primarily for our milk distributors, more extensive deployment in the procurement and distribution areas is in the pipeline. Our key learning has been not to underestimate the change management even in a process that seems so apt for mobile applications; skills in the target segment are still basic and surprisingly lot of resistance to moving away from voice communications.

From a technical perspective, one of the constraints in widespread adoption is also the churn in the device and OS market and concerns about product stability.
