Popular trends in technology
Everyone nowadays is living a parallel digital life. The ‘always online’ phenomenon is shaping the way they create, access and share information. Such digital lifestyle has required consumer
tech companies like WD to go back to drawing board and develop technologies that make possible gadgets with faster interfaces, higher storage capacities, more secure platforms and seamless connectivity between devices while at the same time should be compact and always connected to the Internet.
Content is being continuously created by both man and machine. The phenomenon of ‘never delete’ has removed the cap on storage from the demand-side. Adding to it, the need to preserve this content forever and access from anywhere, anytime has given rise to Personal Cloud, wherein users can store their entire content library in a central location off-device. As slimmer notebooks and ultrabooks become dominant forms of the PC, ultra slim high-capacity hard drives will be much sought after for mobile computing.
