Since the IT organization was decentralized, each followed its own practice leading to non standardized processes

The last two years have witnessed the commissioning of 3 Greenfield projects with an approximate apex of around Rs. 25,000 crores. Due to the nature of its growth through acquisition, Hindalco has inherited multiple/ fragmented IT application systems. Its network also has also grown with new plants being plugged in as and when they have been commissioned. Since the IT organization was decentralized, each followed its own practice leading to non standardized processes.

Despite the advancement in technology and availability of technology solutions, there isn't a day when we can say 'all is fine'. There are several pain points within the enterprise for which solutions do not exist yet. Thus, our sleepless nights are a result of
• Frequent disruption of business critical applications in remote areas due to network outage.
• Lack of visibility of the entire organizations operations due to disparate ERP systems and non existent ERP systems in some units.
• Non-Standard Business processes leading to increase in the number of Business cycle.
