Use and Implementation of Cloud in business

Cloud means quite a lot to our business. In the last couple of years, we have been focusing a lot on virtualizing the physical infrastructure. To start with, Because of regulations we cannot move our applications and customer data to the public cloud so we started with the private cloud. The firm have now virtualized over 200 servers in the last one and half years. The data centre costs both OPEX and CAPEX have been significantly reduced after we adopted private cloud solution. Moving forward, the team is working on a ways to standardize the platforms which are better aligned with our strategy and move the application to those platforms which are better suited for virtualization and cloud than the current platform.

Ensuring Social Media as an asset for business

Social media is not seen as a potential threat. Initially, when social media started, then we wondered what kind of impact it will have on the employees and its customers. But, after a while, it was realized that it is a great platform for the company to connect effectively with the customer and the employees. Since then, the firm had been focusing a lot on social media to employ it as a medium to interact mainly with the customers, to take complaints and also to resolves the customer’s complaints through the popular social media sites. In the near future, this form of popular media is sure to play a much larger role where the clients/ customers will not call or mail the customer care executives to register complaints but most of it will be directly solved through social media platform. When it comes to queries solved through social media, we are very proactive and cautious as such media has wider audience.

Mobile devices to minimize threat, loss and risk

Mobile devices are something which are transforming quite on the approach on how the employees work through it. Most of the mobile device works as a great productive tools where the workers can effectively and efficiently used even while commuting or while away from the workplace. But on the other side, such devices brings a risk to the company as it might turn out to be a distractions while at work since the device available today has internet connectivity as well as games, social media, etc. The risk factor also lies in a case if mobile gets loss or gets corrupted while all the company’s data still resides in the device. So, the company is working on strategy to possibly implement MDM solutions to avoid such risk and threat. On top of this, certain restrictions are imposed on the kind of applications that can be access and the data that can be store in the mobile devices.
