Bangalore: The world-wide leader in IT and networking equipments, Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO) has introduced a new security service named Managed Threat Defense. The new solution is setup to shield customers’ extended networks through its predictive analytics. Furthermore, according to the annual security report of CISCO, it is estimated that there will be a global shortage of more than one million security professionals this year. Thus, it becomes imperative for the MNCs to leverage external security experts to defend threats. In this context, CISCO’s new model, Managed Threat Defense is geared up to help companies to shield their networks against malwares with its novel features.

Headquartered in San Jose, California, Cisco has been transforming how people connect, communicate and collaborate since its inception in 1984. With the current market cap of $132.93billon, Cisco has spread out its industry-leading products and solutions around the world. The company is known for its innovations that cater to specific customer challenges.

Backed up with the Cisco security technologies such as Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP), Sourcefire FirePOWER and Cloud Web Security, the on-premise solution is engineered to monitor, capture and analyze malwares. Equipped with Hadoop 2.0 that employs predictive analysis effectively, the new framework provides incident tracking and reporting through a subscription-based business model. The new solution is monitored by Cisco’s security operations centers (SOCs) worldwide that also assist its clientele with incident response analysis, escalation and remediation recommendations.

“As data continues to move to the cloud, more people are accessing data via mobile devices, in addition to sharing data through social channels. Consequently, security has become our customers’ number one concern,” says Bryan Palma, SVP, Cisco Security Solutions. “Managed Threat Defense lessens the worry associated with protecting against a breach and allows Cisco and its partners to add value where customers need it most,” he adds.
