I come from a business family and my father was a in pharma business. I am married and having two daughters , one of them is 10 yrs adn other one is 3 yrs old. My wife is a home maker.
My focus is on developing people management skills and widening my knowledge horizon. I went through a rigorous course from Mercer on leadership development recently and working on various aspects which precipitated in the exercise.
I had a different start from most of the people normally have. I started straight way as consultant and then moved as implementer. I would have preferred to turn things around and become a consultant after substantial real time exposure.
Degrees That Matter:
a finance degree.
Advice For New Professionals:
Don try to go the end straight way..spend some time in the middle, and work on the basics first. you will not get the chance again to learn it.
I could built up teams in two different organisations, which were recognised as high performing entity.
I get inspired by Sachin Tendulkar for his modesty, passion and foremost for carrying the aspirations of the entire nation. If I could inspire and bring joy to even 0.1% of the number of people he has done than perhaps my life is fulfilled.
The Journey So Far:
Starting with a Govt Org as Process & Quality Consultant, I had a professional U turn and moved to Tata Tea where I got into SAP implementation team and IT journey started. Spend some time with Infosys than for couple of years with Reckitt and for last 2.5 yrs, I am leading the IT for Delta India.
Working Life Management:
I am very attached to my family and kids. My energy accrues from the time, I spend with them. So I make sure to restrict myself to the office timings and spend the quality time playing, moving around, eating out with them and that completes the balance.
The Decisions That Matter
My career has been evolving over period of time and during this period have made a few major decisions. First was moving from Govt to Pvt than moving from Operations to IT. These were two important decions I took on the way.
Leading Delta India IT with responsiblity for developing and aligning the IT strategy with business strategy,Project Implementation and support of Business Systems (SAP, CRM, WEB) & Infrastructure, Planning and Budgeting,Recruitment & Coaching of IT team, BPR Managing IT Risk,Governance and security
Plans For The Future:
I would like to see my self as CIO of a big organisation.
